Today, LDI submitted a follow-up/assessment report on Egypt's progress on human rights to the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) mechanism at the United Nations Human Rights Council.
The report investigates Egypt’s progress on liberal democratization and countering terrorism based on the recommendations received on the second cycle of UPR, in November 2014 and adopted on March 2015, in relation to Civil and Political Rights (Thematic Cluster Group 1) and Justice and Security of Persons Rights (Thematic Cluster Group 2); as follows:

B. Fighting terrorism:
1. Counter-terrorism
2. Public Security
The report is created by the Liberal Democracy Institute of Egypt (LDI), based on first-hand observations and direct involvement into all the human rights issues covered, therein.
